Celebrity chefs and fine food and wine at Good Food & Wine Show

The Summer Good Food & Wine Show Africas biggest culinary extravaganza which takes place at Gallagher Estate in Midrand from November 1 to 4 - rates as the finest culinary show in South Africa.

The international celebrity chefs are always a huge drawcard.

Jetting into Jozi for the show are:

The Hairy Bikers: Coming to the show for the first time are television stars Dave Myers and Si King aka The Hairy Bikers. Myers and King are not your ordinary culinary connoisseurs but one thing is for sure they do know their food and are willing to travel on their motorbikes to the ends of the earth to get to know it better which they have done on travels documented by BBC Food.

Mich Turner: The intricate art of cake making soars to spectacular new heights in the deft hands of Mich Turner, famous for creating celebrity cakes for some of the worlds glitziest names. This attractive blonde has conjured up some amazing confectionary in her time, including birthday cakes for David Beckhams 30th and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsays 40th. Turners list of famous clients include Madonna, Paul McCartney, Pierce Brosnan, Emma Thompson, Colin Firth, Elvis Costello, footballer Ashley Cole and the Osbournes.

Andrew Nutter: Andrew Nutter has enjoyed a career studded with remarkable highs, having learnt his skills from the best in the business. It all began at the age of 13 when he was runner up in the national junior cook of the year award. Shortly afterwards he was a finalist in the Daily Mail Cook of the Year, which then led to a job offer at Londons Savoy Hotel. After three years of intensive and invaluable training at the Savoy, Andrew moved to France for two years working in Michelin starred restaurants all over the country. After returning to London he worked under the watchful eye of Gary Rhodes at the Greenhouse Restaurant. At 21, he opened Nutters, his own brand restaurant, with the backing of his family. Nutter will be heading up the organic forum and doing demonstrations and talking about healthy eating.

Keith Hurdman: Hurdman, master-chocolatier for Melt, an award-winning specialist chocolate shop in Notting Hill, holds the prestigious Truffe D'or as Swiss Champion Confectioner/ Chocolatier. In 2003 he became an ambassador of Belgian chocolate and is a multiple award winner in international competitions including a double gold at the World Chocolate Awards 2007. Dubbed the city's coolest new chocolatier by Londons Time Out, Keith Hurdman is causing quite a scene in the UK as a modern day Willy Wonke.

Brian Turner: Turner is one of Britain's most successful and well-known chefs. In addition to running highly respected restaurants in the UK, he has become a successful television personality, with regular appearances on Ready Steady Cook and Great Food Live. For many years he worked as resident chef on Granada's This Morning' and to add to his achievements he has had his own BBC series Anything you can Cook. He has enjoyed immense success, from opening restaurants, to writing books, and from serving as chairman on some of the top culinary boards, to launching his own Brian Turner coffee range. One of his greatest successes is a CBE award for his services to tourism and training in the catering industry which was awarded in June 2002. He runs the restaurant Turners in the UK.

Sophie Grigson: With a legendary food writer for a mother (Jane Grigston), Sophie Grigston has become a best-selling cookery writer and household name. Attracted to the world of cookery through an interest in ethnic food shops, fresh food has become her cornerstone in the culinary world. Inspired by her mother, she began to write food articles and even create her own recipes for national newspapers. In 1993 Sophies TV career began with a 12-part series Grow Your Greens, Eat Your Greens. In addition Sophie has presented and appeared on numerous TV series, has written very successful cookery books and in 2001 she won Guild of Food Writers Cookery Journalist Award. She also contributes to BBC Good Food, London Evening Standard and the Independent on Sunday

Michelle Canston: Michele Cranston combines a lifelong love of food and art by being both a renowned food writer and stylist. She has been the author of the world renowned Marie Claire cookbooks since 2001 and is the Food Editor of Marie Claire magazine Australia. She was invited by Bill Granger the successful restaurateur, author and consultant to Marks and Spencer, to help him set up his landmark Sydney eatery, Bills. The five years Michele spent helping him establish Bills shaped an already instinctive approach to cooking and food presentation. It was groundbreaking for us, says Michele. Prior to bills there were restaurants and cafes but nothing in between. Bill set the standard for how food could be made in that environment. We worked together to come up with something different, relying on what we instinctively understood about food. In 2000 she became Marie Claire magazines food editor in Australia, taking over from Donna Hay. Cranston will launch the latest in her collection of hit recipe books Seasonal Kitchen at the GF&W Show.
