Chefs

The company in particular does exist and the embassies do confirm this, however the email address is gmail which now concerns us at ChefsWorld.

Golden Rules for any Jobs.

Never pay an admin fee upfront, they can take it from your first months wage.
Never give bank details until you arrive and are satisfied.
Always have an open return ticket sent to you.

We do our best to keep up to date with all the scams, if you come across any more be sure to post them here for all chefs to see and also use the "contact us" page to let us know a.s.a.p.

yer the email address bothered me and brought it to my attention, which made me check out the website properly as the main site seems to be a meeting point for lots of companies. no worries moving again in a week, so details will have changed again, but considering removing personal detaols from c.v. and just giving an email address to start with.

Hi Patrick

I would not worry about your address, you cannot do anything with an address.

They need your bank acccount details AND address together.

If they could do anything with your address then they could just open the address book sent to your front door every year.

Hi Patrick,
I had this conversation with Tim this week I like yourself thought it was too good to be true. I like yourself didnt give out anymore details but thought they were a bit pushy and the money offered was/is Huge. Ive been in touch with the Malay embassy and have been told that it all sounds ok Ive also sent them a copy of the contract. Ive phoned there telephone numbers and theve been answered. We dont have to pay anything for the permit but we do have too make initial inquiries. Then its in the hands of there goverment. I dont see how we can lose if we get an Open return. Then initial form has 350 euro which I was told to ignore but I know a good few agents in the Far East Philapeans in particular who work for big UK liners who charge although we dont In fact agents in Grand Cayman also charge us for services. Unless i hear definite dodgy scam I think Im taking a chance. Theres lots on the contract that looks genuine like you dont even need to give your bank details for wages as they will pay certified cheque. S who nows Keep in touch I we might have a nice holiday. Lets face it Malaysia is a dodgy place to break the law.

Cheers Andy

i was laughing with my girlfriend, saying if i was femail then i would be extra worried about getting jacked up and pimped out. but as a hairy arsed chef, who would pay for it or want it ??? . going to reply to written interview and go from there, if they want money then stoppping in blighty if get return ticket off to sunshine for c.v. enhanching holiday ( have no details about the job yet, which also raised my suspisions), misses would be real pissed though coming back tanned and skint cos sure she would enjoy spending the wages id earn.

Well my husband was sent one as well. He applied for the Job on Chefworld.net and they sent us a written interview and once he'd been 'accepted' we got the following extract from the email immigration officer contact. The thing that made me suspicious was that this 'immigration officer' had the same email suffix as the so called 'Dr. Rubben Johnson' who was our contact from Kuala Lumpur office. We didn't send any money but I'm not letting it rest. I intend to find these people and prosecute them.
