looking for a book

hi everyone...wonder if u can help me i'm looking for a book...think its by herrings...its like a chefs bible...used to have one but lost it and looking for another edition...

hope someone can help me with this...

I have not heard of the one you have mentioned but I use the Larousse Gastronomique.
I saw that a new edition was recently published by Hamlyn.

Its a serious "bible" , check out amazon they might have the new one.

ISBN No 3-8057-0244-2 you should get your book within a week.

this one is the 7th English Edition by Walter Bickel, published by
Fachbuchverlag Dr.Pfanneberg & Co.
6300GeiBen, Germany.

Title of original publication-Lexikon der Kuche by Richard Herring.

Distributed by Virtue & Company Ltd.,25 Breakfield, Coulsdon, Surrey, UK.

Not sure if there is a more recent Edition.....

Hi Scotty
Theres two that I think meet your description The first is Escoffier The Complete Guide To The Art of Modern Cooking. Also the one we used to call the Bible was called La Repitoire of Cuisine this is a great little book for terms and names and obviously ingredients. Good Luck and Good Cooking.
